State and local officials are still waiting on funding for the Interstate 85 Yadkin River bridge, which Rep. Hugh Holliman classifies as the “No. 1 project in the state that needs to be done.”
Sen. Kay Hagan says one challenge is explaining to D.C.-types that funding —estimated at $300 million —- isn’t going toward a “little covered bridge…. it’s the I-85 corridor that everybody from DC down to Charlotte or Atlanta is going through…”
