Henderson County earned a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area designation from the federal government.

The program is designed to provide assistance to federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies across the U.S. that are determine [sic.] to be critical drug trafficking regions [sic.].

This distinctive honor is shared by 58% of the US population. The designation allows Henderson County to receive federal funds for buying illegal drugs (for sting operations, yes, of course) and paying federal officers overtime.
