There’s an idea as old as the hills. Let’s apply it to the cracks in Church Street.
Victoria Cherrie reports the details:
Construction on the future Wachovia office tower and arts complex likely caused dirt and clay beneath Church Street to shift, city officials said, forcing the city to close a portion of the street indefinitely.
Repairs to the area, between West First and Stonewall streets, will take five to six weeks, Charlotte Department of Transportation officials said.
It’s unclear how much the roadwork will cost or who will pay for it, Assistant City Manager Julie Burch said.
It is not unclear to me. Or to most folks.
