As expected, the Guilford County Board of Education has filed suit against Lyon Construction over the air quality problems at Oak Ridge Elementary.

Lyon president John Barrow says the board is using Lyon as a “scapegoat” to cover its missteps. This is going to be interesting, considering the fact that GCS has quite a few construction issues over the years.

Meanwhile, the story broke over the weekend that a judge has temporarily reinstated former Page High School football standout Gabe King, allowing him to start practice at —-of all schools ——Northern Guilford. Remember King was banned from playing sports by the North Carolina High School Athletics Association after Page officials learned he was living with his sister in Page’s district instead of with his parents, who had moved to Winston-Salem.

I assume the GCS gumshoes have verified King’s eligibility to play for the Nighthawks if he’s legally cleared.
