As of the moment, about 1,500 shy of the magical 48,669 needed by August 1 to put the repeal of the half-cent transit tax on the November ballot.

To put that in perspective — I haven’t signed it. Yet.

Is it too megalomaniacal to want to be the 48,669th name on the petition? Probably, huh?

I should get crackin’ then and get my name in the hopper like everyone else who thinks spending $9 billion on a transit plan to handle a fraction of our commuting traffic is nuts.

Now where did I put that petition?
