Joe Schoffstall of the Washington Free Beacon explores Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton’s base of support.

Hillary Clinton has said she wants to be a champion for “everyday Americans” since the launch of her presidential campaign. However, the top ZIP codes supporting her presidential ambitions do not represent a snapshot of everyday America.

Clinton is pulling in thousands from upscale neighborhoods located in New York City and Washington, D.C., areas that are home to wealthy individuals who possess a far higher average net worth than the average household across the United States.

The top ZIP codes fueling her campaign all fall within New York City and D.C., with the exception being Chevy Chase, Maryland, which sits just beyond the D.C./Maryland border. These areas have donated a combined total of $5,124,823 to Clinton’s campaign to date, according to data from the Center for Responsive Politics.
