No, this isn’t a PETA-recommended yoga move.  I’m invoking the mascot of the University of Michigan, which just happens to be the best link between John J. Miller and a National Association of Scholars article by George Leef.  John J. Miller, recently on a discussion panel hosted by the JLF on the 2006 elections, dropped a plug for Carolina Journal Radio on the National Review’s blog, “The Corner.”  Incidentally, he’s also a graduate of the school that George mentions in his online article on the American Bar Association’s (ABA) law school accrediting power gifted by the U.S. Department of Education.  The ABA, with the power to accredit law schools (which directly affects if a law school can accept federal student aid money), is able to use this leverage to compel schools to be more “diverse.”  This comes even after the Supreme Court had decided in 2003 that strict numerical quotas at the University of Michigan would violate the 14th Amendment.  The ability to encourage an agenda that pushes the envelope of a judicial no-no is far too much power for one organization to hold.
