I’ve written before about the left’s long running attempt to smear Justice Thomas, including a disgraceful hit piece by New York Times legal correspondent, Adam Liptak, falsely implying that Thomas is lazy and a plagiarist. The truth, as I wrote in response, is that, thoughout his tenure, Thomas has been the most prolific and original member of the court. The chart above proves my point. It comes from a recent blog post by Supreme Court expert, Jonathan Adler, and shows how many pages each justice wrote in opinions for cases heard during the October stitting. Thomas wasn’t the author of a single majority opinion for that sitting. Nevertheless, the page counts of his dissents and concurrences greatly exceeded the output of any other member of the court.
