Cook Political Report: N.C.’s 8th, 13th congressional districts ‘lean’ or ‘likely’ Republican

Late last week, the Cook Political Report put out new rankings in key congressional races around the country.

In North Carolina, Cook ranks the 11th and 7th congressional districts as “toss ups.” The district are represented by Democratic U.S. Reps. Heath Shuler and Mike McIntyre, respectively.

The 8th Congressional District, represented by Democrat Larry Kissell, is in the “lean Republican” category, and the 13th Congressional District, represented by Democrat Brad Miller, is “likely Republican.”

Yes, redistricting has been a pill for Democrats.
