Multiple lawsuits block implementation of voter ID in North Carolina. One of those suits led to a recent hearing before the U.S. Supreme Court. Justices in Washington, D.C., will decide in the months ahead whether Republican state legislative leaders will be allowed to intervene in a federal challenge of the 2018 voter ID law. In this presentation, we discuss the details of the ID law itself. We also will hear from representatives of several national groups that are supporting Republican legislators’ attempt to take part in the federal case.
