This week is National Charter School Week, and Lindalyn Kakadelis joined a Wednesday news conference to speak about the need to lift North Carolina’s cap on charters, which is currently 100. Only one slot remains open. Kakadelis noted that if the cap is not raised, the state is eligible to lose over $18 million in federal funds. Senate Bill 490, whose main sponsor is Sen. Larry Shaw, would allow 10 more schools per year. On Thursday Kakadelis also spoke to parents at Greensboro Academy.
