Writing for Health Care News, a publication of the Heritage Foundation, Joe Coletti reports on New York’s move to provide HSA’s for a certain cross-section of families within the state. Small businesses may find health care more affordable, if President Bush’s idea of offering tax credits to individuals becomes law. The tax deduction in this instance would be comparable to one offered by a large business employer, said Joe. The county’s share of the Medicaid burden may disappear, if Congressman Butterfields’ new bill successfully moves through Congress and the President. The idea would give relief to counties, but won’t solve the overall spending problem associated with the entitlement program. Both Chad Adams and Joe Coletti spoke with State Government Radio about this and other pressing health issues.
