In the aftermath of the congressional vote to institute ObamaCare, John Locke Foundation President John Hood continues to attract support for his “I Will Not Comply” Facebook page. More than 13,600 people had signed on to Hood’s page by Thursday evening. In addition, The Atlantic Wire covered Hood’s stance on the shady dealings that preceded a final vote on the health-care reform measure. The Errors of Enchantment blog tied to New Mexico’s Rio Grande Foundation also promoted Hood’s work. Former Carolina Journal writer Paul Chesser mentioned Hood’s efforts in an entry for The American Spectator‘s blog. Meanwhile, Hood continued to discuss health-care reform for National Review Online’s primary blog, “The Corner.” His posts in that forum attracted attention from Conservative Blog Watch, Liberal Whoppers, and World Actual News. Hood also discussed the impact of ObamaCare in separate interviews with the News & Observer and with the Winston-Salem Journal. (The Hickory Daily Record reprinted the Winston-Salem article.) Hood also helped enlighten the media on other topics this week. The News & Observer (in print and online at the WakeEd blog) quoted Hood’s thoughts about the budgetary impact of ending forced busing for diversity purposes in Wake County public schools. The Greensboro News & Record interviewed Hood about U.S. Rep. Howard Coble’s crowded Republican primary in his re-election bid. N.C. Senate Republicans cited in one of their daily e-mails Hood’s column outlining the real meaning of Vice President Joe Biden’s visit promoting “green jobs” in the Triangle. The iExecutiveOffice.com Web site also linked to that column. Senate Republicans also publicized a column from Hood that encouraged government officials to release more information about public education spending. Hood joined new host Robby Kendall Thursday for an interview on WLTT Radio’s morning show; they discussed hot topics in North Carolina news.
