When John Locke Foundation President John Hood decided to participate in National Review Online’s “Corner” blog debate this week about federal taxes and spending, he ended up attracting attention from the New Republic, which apparently lacks Hood’s “flinty resolve.” Hood also attracted attention for a different reason from Capitol Broadcasting CEO Jim Goodmon. The high-profile supporter of left-of-center causes blasted Hood’s comments about the Wake County school board, as documented in the News & Observer‘s “WakeEd” blog. N.C. Senate Republicans promoted Hood’s columns this week on college costs, forced annexation, the Left’s anti-jobs agenda, and the popularity of populism.
