Editors at Investor’s Business Daily appear somewhat amused by results of a recent poll. Rep. Nancy Pelosi might want to look at the results before she regains her gavel as U.S. House speaker.

A Gallup Poll taken after the midterms finds that, according to those surveyed, the top problem facing the country is … government.

You know, the government that Democrats want to vastly expand by socializing health care, providing free college, guaranteed government jobs, a “Green New Deal.”
Government Is The Problem

Of the 12 items on the list of problems, “government” came out on top, with 19% saying it was the most important problem facing the U.S.

True, “government” is a pretty vague term. But our guess it that people aren’t listing it as a problem because they think it’s too small or not intrusive enough. They’re putting at the top of the list because they think it’s too big, dysfunctional and corrupt. In other words, it’s the swamp Trump promised to drain.

Next on the list of problems: Immigration. While down from last month, 16% cite it as the top problem. Right now, Trump and Democrats are facing off over Trump’s demand that the government provide billions of dollars to build the wall he promised voters. In a testy meeting between Trump and Democratic leaders, he said he’d be proud to shut down the government if that’s what it took to get Democrats to provide funding.
