News 14 Carolina’s “Capital Tonight” devoted a segment to the book on Independence Day. Carolina Journal Managing Editor Rick Henderson also appeared on “Capital Tonight” this week, discussing hot political news from the General Assembly during the program’s weekly “Insiders” segment. 

JLF Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray reached a statewide television audience with her latest appearance on the N.C. Spin syndicated program. Gray continues her semiweekly politics and policy updates for WTSB Radio listeners. CJ Associate Editor Barry Smith discussed Gov. Beverly Perdue’s budget veto during an extended interview on UNC Public Television’s “Legislative Week in Review.”

JLF Director of Communications Mitch Kokai discussed both the budget veto and the legislature’s vote to override a Racial Justice Act veto with WTVD Television. Kokai offered an assessment of the Republican legislative leadership’s performance for a session-ending recap story on News 14 Carolina. He also discussed the week’s top state government news with Curtis Wright on WAAV/WFNC Radio.
