The Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation is considering constructing a light rail commuter line which, according to Greensboro News & Record editorial writer Doug Clark, is estimated to cost $716 million. Clark noted in a recent column that John Hood has cited figures about declining transit ridership and increased telecommuting from home – data Clark seems to believe should be among the information weighed by leaders before committing to a light rail system.
