A unanimous three-judge panel of the N.C. Court of Appeals has affirmed a trial-court ruling tossing a 2011 lawsuit from former employees of the Forsyth County Board of Elections who alleged the board had violated the Whistleblower Act.
Among the other opinions released this morning, a three-judge panel unanimously agreed to send back to the N.C. Industrial Commission a case in which Carteret County property owners won more than $106,000 from the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources. An improper inspection had left the plaintiffs with property that could not support a septic system for their home. The Industrial Commission must reconsider the size of the payment from DENR.
