The N.C. Supreme Court handed down nine published opinions this afternoon. None features any original analysis from members of the state’s highest court.

In seven of the cases, the Supreme Court affirmed without comment the majority opinion in cases that had generated 2-1 splits on the N.C. Court of Appeals. In one case, the Supreme Court reversed the Appeals Court, “for the reasons stated in the dissenting opinion.” In the final case, Supreme Court justices split 3-3, with one justice not participating in the case. That means the appellate decision remains “undisturbed,” and it “stands without precedential value.”
