Looks like this may be the final week of the 2011-12 legislative session.  There are thirty-four bills on the governor’s desk awaiting her signature, veto, or inaction (which after 10 days, automatically becomes law).  The whole list is here. It will get longer as the General Assembly finishes up its work.

But with the 10-day deadline for the governor to act before July 1, the ones we’ll be watching are the budget, fracking, air toxics reform and death penalty amendments.  The bill requiring voters to show a photo identification is still on the table and ripe for an override vote.

Purdue has vetoed sixteen bills in 2011. The General Assembly overrode eight of those vetoes.   Will she veto any in 2012 and will the General Assembly override her?

There are other issues still working their way through the General Assembly including contingency contracts for audits, Dental Management restrictions as reported here, and the uncertain future of education reform.
