In Carolina Journal‘s first news report of 2012, Don Carrington reports that Gov. Bev Perdue in August violated an agreement with the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics when she discussed embargoed employment data with the Rotary Club of Asheville while the embargo was still in effect. It’s not clear whether that violation also broke a federal law protecting the confidentiality of employment information.
