In addition to Don Carrington, two other top Carolina Journal staffers spent some time on the radio this week. Publisher Jon Ham discussed the latest CJ print edition during an appearance with Chad Adams on the WLTT morning show. Managing Editor Rick Henderson discussed former lottery commissioner Kevin Geddings’ latest legal victory and the scandals surrounding retiring Sen. R.C. Soles, D-Columbus, during an appearance on Curtis Media Group’s “People and Politics” program. Sticking with radio appearances, Meck Deck blogger Jeff Taylor joined Tara Servatius on WBT to discuss Mecklenburg County’s ongoing employment woes. Michael Sanera joined Bill LuMaye on WPTF to discuss concerns about high-speed rail rolling through Raleigh. John Locke Foundation communications director Mitch Kokai discussed the upcoming elections with Curtis Wright on WAAV/WFNC, while Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray discussed Glenn Beck’s recent Lincoln Memorial rally with Carl Lamm on WTSB. Gray joins the N.C. Spin television panel again this week to discuss keeping convicted murderers behind bars for life, closing Dorothea Dix Hospital, auditing the state Ferry Division, and searching for a new state lottery director. In addition to her broadcast appearances, Gray discussed the upcoming election during a meeting Thursday in Sparta with the Alleghany County Republican Party. She heads to Havelock this Labor Day weekend for a Tea Party appearance. The New Bern Sun Journal mentioned JLF in a preview of that event. Speaking of road trips, the Richmond County Daily Journal promoted the John Locke Foundation’s participation in Americans for Prosperity’s upcoming “November is Coming” bus tour.
