John Locke Foundation experts are coordinating their plans to participate in 20 tax day Tea Party events across North Carolina next week. The action actually starts this weekend, as Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray heads to Kill Devil Hills and Director of Research and Local Government Studies Michael Sanera prepares to speak in Rocky Mount. Speaking of road trips, Gray addressed the new Greensboro Liberty Caucus Monday and the Stokes and Surry counties Tea Party organizing committee Tuesday. Gray and Sanera joined colleagues this week for a candidate policy briefing in Fayetteville. Executive Vice President Kory Swanson, Director of Health and Fiscal Policy Studies Joseph Coletti, and Director of Education Studies Terry Stoops shared policy insights at the briefing organized by the Cumberland County Republican Party. JLF experts also shared their insights on the radio this week. Stoops joined WPTF’s Bill LuMaye Thursday afternoon to discuss the State Board of Education chairman’s disparaging public remarks about charter schools. LuMaye also interviewed Carolina Journal Associate Editor Sara Burrows about big companies’ responses to the potential costs linked to ObamaCare. Meck Deck blogger Jeff Taylor discussed Mecklenburg County unemployment and the county’s fiscal challenges during an appearance with Tara Servatius on WBT. Sanera discussed his new planning jargon glossary during a chat with the “Conservative Prof” on Blog Talk Radio. Vice President for Research and Resident Scholar Roy Cordato did not appear on Rush Limbaugh’s nationally syndicated program, but Limbaugh read one of Cordato’s blog entries during a discussion of President Obama‘s recent trip to Charlotte.
