Audiences across North Carolina continue to hear insights from John Locke Foundation Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray. She previewed the week’s state government news Monday for WTSB Radio listeners and heads to that Smithfield station for a live appearance this afternoon. Gray briefed the Wayne County Republican Club this week and moderated a 7th Congressional District Republican primary debate in Elizabethtown. Gray and Executive Vice President Kory Swanson briefed candidates in Mecklenburg County, and they will address Saturday’s 1st District Republican Party convention in Williamston. Swanson also moderated a state Senate District 18 candidates’ debate in Rolesville.

Director of Communications Mitch Kokai discussed the upcoming legislative session with the Western Wake Republican Club in Cary. Kokai and Curtis Wright dissected the week’s top state government news on WAAV/WFNC Radio. Two recent Wake Weekly articles referenced efforts from Michael Sanera, Director of Research and Local Government Studies, to critique Wake County’s transit plan during public meetings. (John Locke Foundation Director of Research and Local Government Studies Dr. Michael Sanera claimed that the plan had yet to be vetted and supported by credentialed economists. Sanera distributed his own information sheet to highlight hidden or missing costs from the Wake County plan.) The Stanly News & Press highlighted Stanly County’s B grade at JLF’s NCTransparency.com website.
