A Charlotte Observer editorial this week panning the state lottery cited research data from Jon Sanders, John Locke Foundation Associate Director of Research. The Wilson Daily Times republished that editorial, and the Greensboro News & Record cited JLF in its own editorial on the same subject. The Observer also published a letter from Sanders that provided additional information about the lottery’s flaws. The N.C. Family Policy Council and the Heritage Foundation’s “Insider Online” promoted Terry Stoops’ research about North Carolina high school graduation rates and community college remediation. The Wilmington Star-News quoted Roy Cordato in an article about a secretive corporate tax incentive package in Brunswick County. Fergus Hodgson, Director of Fiscal Policy Studies, contributed a commentary to the Future of Freedom Foundation promoting the National Debt Relief Amendment. Hodgson also started the first Spanish-language libertarian forum within the Reddit.com social news website.
