The Winston-Salem Police Department has named its new police chief to replace the retiring Barry Rountree and surprise—it’s not Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department commander Cam Selvey, whose Tweets with the Darth Vader profile picture drew scrutiny earlier this week.
The new chief is Catrina Thompson, a 23-year WSPD veteran who currently serves as the assistant chief in charge of the Investigative Services Bureau.
