Lew Rockwell writes here about the astounding case of North Carolinian Bernard NotHaus. The feds managed to get a jury to convict him of the alleged crime of producing silver coins. These “Liberty dollars” were not counterfeit US coinage, but the feds still want him behind bars.
Rockwell focuses on the reaction of the Southern Poverty Law Center, which cheered the conviction. Clearly the SPLC has become an organization that marches in lock-step with the statist gang since this case has nothing to do with poverty or racial injustice. It is a flagrant injustice against a white man, but since he can be tarred with the “tea party” brush, the SPLC is happy to see him imprisoned.
