In the debates over raising the minimum wage, we often hear the advocates of the law declaring that it has been proven that raising it does not lead to job losses — much as we hear from the climate alarmists that it is “settled” that human actions cause global warming and must be stopped. I wonder what good San Francisco progressives will think about the closing of a venerable book store in the city due to the increased minimum wage there? Cato’s Walter Olson has the details here.
I know — blame it on global warming. Or the Koch brothers. Just don’t ever admit that actual people are harmed by statist meddling with the price system.
