Today Americans for Prosperity in North Carolina released a poll gauging public opinion on taxes and government spending, on the eve of the nation’s tax filing deadline, April 15th.

Here are the findings from the poll:

The poll found 83% of North Carolina registered voters expect a business would be somewhat or much more likely to move to North Carolina if the corporate tax rate was lowered, while 64% believe a lower corporate tax rate would have a very or somewhat positive impact on the economy.

On spending, the poll found 74% of residents strongly or somewhat disagree with the continuing approach to “increase government spending every single year,” while only 11% believe increasing government spending will spur the economy more than tax cuts.
