As N.C. lawmakers continue to haggle over the best way to proceed with Medicaid reform, they heard some advice Monday afternoon from experts who’ve addressed reform in Kansas, Florida, and Louisiana.
Kansas Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer, a physician and former Kansas legislator; Alan Levine of the Mountain States Health Alliance, who served as health adviser to both former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and current Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal; and Christie Herrera, senior fellow at the Florida-based Foundation for Government Accountability, served as panelists for a John Locke Foundation event aimed at legislators.
